These photos were taken at a park near my house. There are many ponds but, this is what all the others feed into. The way the reeds are covering part of water implies a feeling of protection. I am attempting to convey that two very similar shots can provide very different feelings. The one on the left is attempting to convey a feeling of being unsettling because of the darkness despite the bright colors of the sky.
These are pine trees that sit in a row in front of my house. I used to play in them when I was younger, so I tried to make them more colorful and representative of my childhood. The one on the right is called Christmas came early because of the large presence of Red and Green. I'm attempting to convey a feeling of ordered chaos with the movement of the branches. The left one is about how sometimes things look cool, but you know they can never actually exist.
These two photos are taken on the side of a road near Pinckney. Hurricane Force is named so because of the tree's constant movement and implied ferocity of said movement. Truly Evergreen is how I enhanced the color of the natural tree to make it a much brighter long lasting green. The greatest challenge for me on these photos was ignoring the sound of traffic behind me. It was highly distracting because I was standing on the side of the road with cars roaring past.
These photos were taken deep into Lillie Park on the border of Ypsilanti. This photos capture the edge of the forest meeting a pond. Edge of the storm is trying to capture the feeling of anxiety right before a huge thunderstorm begins. The smell of Ozone in the air and the feeling on your skin. Natural habitat was a photo taken at the perfect moment to capture a visage of nature. It captures a feeling of relaxation and calm with the sun burning through the fog on the horizon.
This was taken from a Hill overlooking Lillie park. In Spots of paint you can see how the trees have been changed to a color matching late autumn. In Summer's Height you can see that the colors have taken on a bright colorful feeling, like many students after they're released from school. In these photo I am attempting to capture the feelings of the season. With Spots of paint you see the changing of summer into winter, but in summer's height all you see is the beauty and heat of summer.
